About Natasha
I have two decades of experience teaching piano, with a special interest in intermediate/advanced and mature student piano education. I currently teach along-side fellow ORMTA Hamilton/Halton member and past president Dr. Chris Foley at Foley Music and Arts in Oakville. I am also a frequent adjudicator and clinician for festivals and competitions across the country. I have a Bachelors degree in solo piano performance and a Masters degree in Collaborative Piano performance, and I currently manage an active career as a vocal collaborative performer and coach. I am the co-founder of DUOver with my duo partner, mezzo-soprano Jennifer Routhier. DUOver interprets contemporary and traditional art-song repertoire by incorporating cross-genre collaboration with local diverse artists. We are currently preparing to record our first album. Additional professional pursuits include ensemble singing as a choral soprano, and building my business as a freelance website developer, specializing in building sites for teachers, companies, and organizations in the arts.
What Natasha loves about being a member of ORMTA:
As a private music teacher, the support and resources that ORMTA provides is integral. I am grateful to be a member of a community of local teachers to network and connect with as I build my student base and continue to expand my career as a music educator. As a member, I am able to bolster my support for my students through ORMTA’s emphasis on student recognition and encouragement, and the many student performance and growth opportunities they provide. Benefiting from ORMTA’s professional development resources, workshops, and guest speakers ensures that I am able to be the best teacher I can be for my students.
